But like with anything else it has to be done in moderation, and to a point. It is up to parents to educate themselves in any way possible, and these books give them a chance to probably come to an understanding with their child.

You can see for yourself that are no limits and boundaries to the topics and genres discussed or no confines as where your self educating will go. But as a parent you must realize that not every single book written out there is for you. Yes some may appeal to needs, and some may just look inviting, but the truth is you have to just absorb and fully understand what you are reading. These books are meant to be guidelines for what you should generally do, not what you must do or else.
Reading is always a great thing to do, and books definitely help a lot of people get through some rough patches, and that is what they are there for. But learn and comprehend properly, because there are some parents that rely solely on books to tell them what to do in every situation, and this is not healthy parenting on any level. Parenting should be a natural learning experience, and you should always welcome advice, no matter the source.
